If you have been keeping tabs, it should be amply clear by now that Apple iPhone 8, or the celebrated 10th-anniversary edition, is supposed to be a thoroughly ambitious project and unlike any other known iPhone model.

Now, folks at Forbes have managed to lay their hands on CAD design files of iPhone 8 working with the case manufacturer Nodus and that confirms the design for the new iPhone 8.

Here are the logically drawn conclusions about the Apple iPhone 8 Design that you should know of:

  • Yes, the dual camera system on the rear is now vertically mounted. Allegedly, this is because of the big AR push coming from Apple and Horizontal cameras work better with AR (When the phone is being operated in landscape mode, the cameras will align horizontally).

  • Apple will be using a 5.8-inch OLED panel with very narrow bezels on the side. The front would be full screen with a cut out for front camera and sensor.

  • The Touch ID will either be placed beneath the display or underneath the power button (Sony style). The latter is more likely as the size of the power button has drastically increased.
  • The iPhone 8 will retain the lightning port. Apple won’t be switching to USB Type-C port this year as was being speculated.

That should put all iPhone 8 design related rumors to rest for now. The Apple iPhone 8 is definitely shaping up to be very very exciting, and it has to, considering the big leap Android flagships like Galaxy S8/S8+ and LG G6 have taken this year. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30 are also confirmed to arrive just in time to crash Apple’s party.
