Asus’s latest set of ROG compact gaming machines, the Strix GL553, that were recently introduced at CES 2017 have now been launched in India starting at Rs. 94,990. The new ROG Strix GL553 is the first from ASUS to offer a backlit RGB keyboard. The lights are spread across the keyboard in four zones and can be customized using ROG Aura software.
The top model (GL553 VE) will have the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti (with 4GB GDDR5) and Intel Core i7-7700HQ Processor. On the other hand, the base variant (GL553 VD) will employ Intel Core i5-7300HQ Processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (with 2/4GB GDDR5) graphics.

Other features include 48 Whr battery, 300 Nits bright 15.6” Full HD (1920 x 1080) 60Hz IPS LCD display, 16GB/8GB 2400MHz DDR4 Memory, expandable Up to 32GB DDR4(Total 2 DIMM Slots), 1TB 7200rpm 2.5” HDD storage, optional SATAIII 128/256GB M.2 SSD and usual set of connectivity ports.

Would you please tell me whether the 8 GB RAM which could be preinstalled in ASUS GL553VD (core i5 variant) is divided into two 4GB RAMs and have been inserted in the two RAM slots available in the laptop or there is an 8 GB RAM in only one slot and the other is empty?
We no longer have ROG GL553 with us so won’t be able to provide you correct information. In general, manufacturer’s use both slots by installing 4GB chips in both slots.
