Asus took a big leap forward (from budget to premium mid-range) with its third generation Zenfones and almost a year later, the Taiwanese manufacturer has its next set of Zenfones, the fourth generation models, that should further consolidate its stance.

Asus outed a total of 5 new Zenfone 4 models today, out of which the Zenfone 4 Selfie and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro shall serve as low cost and mid-range Selfie phone options, respectively.

Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Features

The base Zenfone Selfie variant has a 5.5-inch HD Display, a front mounted home button + fingerprint reader (just as all other Zenfone 4 models), and is powered by 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 chipset.

It looks about same as the Pro model in terms of design, but we are guessing that Asus is using a lower manufacturing process for the phone, one that results in plastic trimmings on top and bottom.

The front camera has a 20MP sensor along with f/2.0 aperture wide angle optics. The rear camera, on the other hand, employs a 16MP shooter with PDAF and dual tone LED flash.

Other notable features include Android 7.0 (Nougat) with Zen UI 4.0, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and 3000mAh battery.

Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro Feature

The Pro variant isn’t a minor upgrade over Zenfone 4 selfie. Asus is using a slimmer, full metal casing, considerably powerful chipset (Snapdragon 625), a sharper full HD display panel and a large size 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor for the front camera. It also has additional Hi-resolution audio.

The software, battery capacity, and rear camera remain the same, though.

Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro and Zenfone 4 Selfie Price and India Availability

  • ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro will be available in Rouge Red, Sunlight Gold and Deepsea Black colors for a price starting at US$379 (or roughly Rs. 24,000)
  • ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie will be available in Deepsea Black, Mint Green, Rose Pink, Sunlight Gold colors with the price starting at US$279 (or roughly Rs. 18,000)

Since Asus will be introducing a new set of Zenfones in Asia first, both of these phones are expected to hit Indian market sooner rather than later.

Apart from the two Selfie phones, Asus also officially presented a set of dual camera phones  – the Zenfone 4, Zenfone 4 Pro, Zenfone 4 Max Pro.
