It’s more efficient to swipe up quick settings from the bottom of the screen, but alas it has always been the other way round in Android. However, if you were looking for an App that could let you access frequently used setting toggles by swiping up from the bottom of your Android phone screen, Touchbar for Android could help.

The neat app isn’t yet available on Playstore but can be downloaded from XDA Labs for free. It’s working fine on four different phones that we have tested, but doesn’t work for phones with Samsung Pay activated since bottom swipe gesture is already reserved on these.

Here is what you need to do.

Step 1: Go to XDA lab page and download TouchBar App APK file

Step 2: Tap on the downloaded file to install it (make sure to check the box next to Unknown sources under Settings>> Security)

Step 3: Open the app and check the first three boxes to grant required permissions

Step 4: Toggle on the ‘Activate TouchBar’ option and you are done.

You can now swipe up from the bottom to access system settings, playback and volume controls, and even Google search.
