Fujifilms has today launched a new version of its instant mobile printer, the Instax Share SP-2, which is faster, offers better print resolution and contrast, and comes with more customization option within the refreshed Android and iOS App.

“The Instax SHARE Smartphone Printer SP-2 is a newly designed product which has improved image quality compared to that of the “instax SHARE Smartphone Printer SP-1” and new functions to meet users’ preferences and their lifestyle of taking and editing photos with smartphones,” states Fujifilm in its official press release.

The basics remain same, though. The printer connects with iOS and Android devices via proprietary app, using the App’s own WiFi network and can instantly print your smartphone images on Fujifilm’s 2-inch-by-3-inch Instax Mini instant film (10 prints per cartridge). Instax Share SP-2 uses a new exposure system for better print quality.

You can edit clicked images in the overhauled Fujifilm app. You get to toggle with color contrast, hue, saturation, choose between different templates, or apply one of many available filters. The new Instax Share SP-2 can print an image in 10 seconds as compared to 16 seconds on the first iteration model. You can also directly print images from Facebook and Instagram, and also choose to include likes and hearts your images got on the respective social media platforms.

We all love snapping photographs on our smartphones and there are often times we feel the need to print and preserve some special memories in a physical album. Fujifilm’s Instax printer facilitates just that, but the price per print still feels expensive.

The price for the phone printer remains same. You can buy Instax Share SP-2 in Silver or Gold colors starting this July for $199. Pack of 2 Fujifilm’s Instax Mini instant films will be sold separately for $20.
