Gionee Ropes In Virat Kohli As Its Brand Ambassador

Soon you will be seeing newly appointed Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli promoting Gionee smartphones in TVCs and Hoardings. The Chinese smartphone manufacturing company has signed up Virat Kohli as its new brand ambassador. Gionee made its announcement while celebrating its 1.2 crore customers in India.

Kohli will soon be part of Gionee campaign and will also be involved in other innovative marketing and customer experience initiatives. Kohli will join actor Alia Bhatt, whom company signed as its female brand ambassador a few months ago, to promote the brand.

“With the two of the most loved icons in India, our motto of ‘Making Smiles’ is bound to create a new benchmark across billions of young hearts,” said Arvind R Vohra, Country CEO and MD, Gionee India, in a statement.

The company doubled its growth in last fiscal year and is now has set an ambitious aim for this year. Gionee has two manufacturing units in the country and is planning to establish 500 brand stores across the country along with doubling their strength of retail representatives to 20,000.

“Gionee comes across as a brand that is fuelled by passion, determination and focus to innovate and perform and with all of this have it’s heart in the right place by giving back to society,” said Kohli.
