Google Health Cards Live In India With Knowledge Graph On More Than 400 Issues

Searching for health related ailments is often the first move people make, even before they consult a doctor. Looking at this trend, Google has updated its search engine with Health cards.  These new cards are visible on the Google app on Android or iOS phones and tablets, as well as on mobile and desktop browsers.

“One in 20 Google searches are for health-related information,” said a Google blog announcing the new feature.

Google health cards offers illustrative images of the disease along with its symptoms, preventive measures on 431 health related issues including including Malaria, Lung cancer, Dengue fever, etc.”

To cater to majority section of Indian population Google has made this service available in both English and Hindi.In future, Google has plans to offer the same service in other Indic languages.  Information available on the card can be saved or shared with the download link given below each result.

India has become the third nation after the United States and Brazil to receive Google Health cards on the search. Google worked with a team of doctors from Apollo group of hospitals to review and customize content for India.

During product development we also consulted the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and ASHAs who are community health workers to ensure the information on the cards is useful and accessible,” commented Prem Ramaswami, Senior Product Manager at Google.
