Google’s flagship device, Pixel 2 XL, has some display issues. The high-resolution QHD+ full vision display on Pixel 2 XL is reportedly facing a screen burn-in, a familiar AMOLED display problem, along with reported instances of muddy color and grainy textures when viewed in low-light.
First reported by Android Central in its tweet, and later backed by many others, the Pixel 2 XL shows a faint-outlines of the on-screen navigational buttons when the screen is viewed with a Grey background.

Google Pixel 2 XL Screen Burn-in
The screen burn-ins aren’t something unheard of when it comes to OLED displays. Many smartphone screens do begin to show burn-in signs over time, but that usually happens after months or even a year of usage.
Manufacturers like Samsung are known to use (inconspicuous) shifting home buttons to avoid display burn-in.

However, Google Pixel 2 XL showing the burn-in sign only after a week or so of normal usage, and that’s particularly bad on a flagship phone. Reading the issue, a quick response came from the Google’s spokesperson, who backed the phone’s hardware and assured that they are investigating the issue.
The Pixel 2 XL screen has been designed with an advanced POLED technology, including QHD+ resolution, wide color gamut, and high contrast ratio for natural and beautiful colors and renderings. We put all of our products through extensive quality testing before launch and in the manufacturing of every unit. We are actively investigating this report.
It must be mentioned that the same is not an issue with the base Pixel 2 that also uses an AMOLED display.
