Huawei has confirmed that it will launch Honor 7X, that was earlier introduced in China, in India next month. Honor’s Global President George Zhao confirmed to IANS that it’s 18:9 display phone will have a such an aggressive price that it will go unchallenged ‘in its class’.

Huawei also stated that it will be increasing its marketing efforts, particularly in the offline segment, to consolidate its position in India.

Honor 7X vs Honor 9i: They aren’t very different

The thing is, that Honor recently launched its Honor 9i in India for Rs. 17,999 and the Honor 9i isn’t very different from the upcoming Honor 7X.

Both phones have almost the same size 18:9 display, are powered by the same Kirin 659 processor paired with 4GB RAM, have the same rear camera specifications, and have almost identical battery capacities. Even the body dimensions and weight are almost same.

The Honor 7X will, however, have some additional AI smarts built-in, and we will have to wait to know exactly how much Huawei is willing to pass on at this budget price.

In India, Huawei will be launching the 32GB variant of Honor 7X (vs 64GB on Honor 9i) and thus the class Zhao is referring to is probably the ruthless 10K to 15K segment, where the 7X will compete against the likes of Mi A1 and Moto G5s Plus.

Also, unlike the 9i, Honor 7X has dual cameras only on the rear. Here is how the two compare against one another:
