Huawei P10 and P10 Plus Debuts With Dual Rear Cameras At MWC 2017

After making headlines with its dual camera phone- the P9, in 2016, Chinese telecom giant Huawei has finally taken the wraps off of its P10 and P10 Plus. Both of these phones have the hot topic on the internet of-late. The new duo comes with improved aesthetics, display, chipset as well as better cameras.

The newcomers improve on the standard set by their predecessor(s). Both Huawei P10 and P10 Plus come with a premium and nearly bezel-less design.  The exterior shell of both phones is predominantly made out of metal whereas their displays get a 2.5D arced glass cover. As far as design difference is concerned, the P10 Plus has a taller outfit, rounded corners and comes with a home button and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor whereas, the P10 has a fingerprint sensor embedded on to the home button itself.

Unlike Apple’s iPhone 7, the new Huawei phones feature both a USB Type-C port as well as an audio jack. The Huawei P10 sports a 5.1-inch full-HD display with a 2.5D contoured edge around. At the heart of it, enthralls a Kirin 960 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage.

For shutterbugs, the Huawei P10 flaunts two sensors at the rear side, offering a DSLR-like bokeh effect. The P10 boasts a rear camera setup that includes 12MP RGB + 20MP monochrome sensors with f/2.2 lens and OIS support.

It comes running on EMUI 5.1 garnished on top of Android 7.0. It is armed with a 3,650mAh battery. The new phone gets Knuckle Swipe Split screen and One Swipe Global, Local search features and creates auto-generated video stories.

The P10 Plus on the other hand, comes with 5.5-inch display 2K display with water resistance. It sports Leica’s 20—megapixel monochrome sensor coupled with a 12-megapixel RGB sensor as a part of the rear camera setup.

The Dual Camera 2.0 Pro edition-enabled phone also features optical image stabilization. Unlike its predecessor, it can shoot videos up to 4K and also supports H265 compression. The 8-megapixel front camera on the P10 Plus is also a Leica camera and comes in with features like an adaptive selfie mode.

The phone comes with 4.5G LTE and has 4×4 MIMO Technology quad antenna to offer upto 2 times better download speed. It is powered by a Kirin 960 quad-core chipset which was earlier used in the Huawei Mate 9. Under the hood, it also packs 4GB RAM which, the company claims, has a faster speed than what a current 6GB RAM offers.

Both Huawei P10 and P10 Plus come in Blue, Green, Rose Gold, Gold, Silver and Black color options. The P10 and P10 Plus goes on sale this March. While the P10 is priced at €649, the P10 Plus base variant to retail at €699, while the 128GB model will cost €799.
