Reliance Jio, at present the leading mobile network operator in the country, is reportedly collaborating with Google, in a bid to build a smartphone catering exclusively to the company’s 4G network.

According to Economic Times, the phone, to be outed in the affordable segment of the market, is expected to arrive sometime later this year and is aimed at providing a wider market reach to the Mukesh Ambani-led company, with a generous dose of help from the Google branding.

Also, another tentative outcome of the alliance would be a far deeper integration of the Jio mobile applications onto the Android platform, thereby considerably boosting their performance.
