Lava Z50 Is The First Android Oreo (Go Edition) Phone In India: Price, Features and Availability

Update: Lava Z50 with Android Oreo (Go Edition) announced in India at a price of Rs. 4,400 but you can buy it at the effective price of Rs. 2,400. The phone will be available across 100,000 retail stores as well as e-commerce platforms like Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal.

Lava became the first Indian brand to launch an Android Go phone, Lava Z50. The Android Go is a lightweight model of Android’s latest Oreo operating system designed to for the entry-grade smartphones.

Lava Z50 Price, Availability, and Offers

The Lava Z50 will be up for grab from mid-March of 2018. It will be available in Black and Gold colour variants across 100,000 retail stores in India. The company didn’t reveal the price of Lava Z50, but we are expecting it to be around Rs. 4,000.

However, Lava says that its handset will come with Rs. 2,000 cashback from Airtel as part of the telco’s “Mera Pehla Smartphone” initiative. It will also come attached with a 2-year warranty, something it shares with other Lava Z-Series smartphones.

Lava Z50 Features

Talking about the specifications of the Lava Z50, the handset features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) display with 2.5D Curved Corning Gorilla Glass, up front. The Z50 is powered by MediaTek MT6737M SoC, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8-gigabits of internal storage.

For photography, the Android-Go powered Lava Z50 boasts a 5MP sensor and LED flash on both front and rear camera modules. The cameras have the ability to shoot images in Bokey Mode, i.e. images with blurred background.

Rest of the specification about Lava Z50 like battery capacity, dimensions, weight, and microSD support is yet be revealed by the company.

“With LAVA Z50 powered by Android Oreo (Go edition), we are giving our first-time smartphone users an impeccable software designed for faster processing,” Gaurav Nigam, Head-Product, Lava International, said in a statement.
