At a time when smartphones are inching bigger with each passing year, a Shanghai-based startup called Unihertz is trying to run against the wind. The company has designed a super compact smartphone dubbed as Jelly. The smartphone is currently aiming to raise funds through a Kickstarter campaign where so far it has received a tremendous response.
The Jelly smartphone is being termed as ‘world’s smallest’ 4G smartphone. It boasts an ultra-small 2.45-inch display with near bezel-less design. It is so compact that it can even fit into coin pocket of jeans. The phone will be made offered in Pearl White, Sky Blue, and Space Black color options.
Its makers have churned out a strategy to offer it in two RAM / Storage options. The two models of the phone are named as Jelly and Jelly Pro. Both of them uses a 1.1 GHz quad-core chipset for all the heavy lifting. While the Jelly phone comes with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal memory, the Jelly Pro features 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory.

For shutterbugs, there is an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie camera. The phone comes with dual nano SIM card slots with 4G LTE support. Other connectivity options include dual-band Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, G-Sensor, Compass, and Gyroscope.
Both of them comes with a 950mAh battery that is said to last three days of ‘working time’ and seven days in standby mode.
The base variant of Jelly phone is priced at $109 (approx. Rs. 6,900) whereas the Pro version to cost $125 (approx. Rs. 8,000) once launched. However, for the early birds at KickStarters, the Jelly phone is priced at $59 (approx. Rs. 3,800) for while the Jelly Pro phone is priced at $75 (approx. Rs. 4,800).
