Xiaomi has finally lifted the lid off its most awaited phone and the successor to its highly popular Mi 5 handset, called the Mi 6, today. The phone has been launched exclusively in the company’s native, China, as of yet and for now, the company seems to have chosen to remain silent about the phone’s global outing.

With the Mi 6, Xiaomi has become the first company in China to bring out a smartphone featuring the latest Snapdragon 835 processor.

The phone comes with a 5.15-inch display and has a 6GB RAM  alongside an Adreno 540 GPU supporting the chipset, also coming in equipped with an ‘eye care’ technology to reduce strain on the eyes. Furthermore, it has three variants differing in terms of their memory capacities.

Xiaomi has also provided for a 1-nit ultra dark night display, which offers lower but adequate brightness in low-light and is meant for those who, literally, prefer spending the night with their smartphone.

Also, the company claims that the Mi 6 is the first 5.15-inch smartphone in the world to feature dual cameras, out of which one makes use of a telephoto lens while the other one has a wide-angle lens (both 12MP).

Keeping the phone running is a 3,350mAh battery and there’s also dual speakers in tow, intended to lend a wholesome audio experience.

Coming to the outside, the Mi 6 has been fashioned from stainless steel and has a high-gloss outline. In order to give out more rounded corners, Xiaomi has opted for a four-sided 3D glass lending an elegant touch.

The company is also vehemently pushing the point that the phone is splash-resistant from every angle possible.

The Mi 6 is available in more than a couple of color options, such as blue, silver (with ultra reflective surface, limited edition) and ceramic (that has 18karat gold in the camera rims and has four-sided ceramic).
