OnePlus 5 With Dual Rear Cameras and Snapdragon 835 SoC launched In India; Starts at Rs. 32,990

Ever since OnePlus took the wraps off its latest flagship killer – the OnePlus 5- that has been making headlines globally for both the right and wrong reasons. Now two days after the international launch, the OnePlus 5 has been launched today in India at a grand launch event in Mumbai.

So what’s so special in the OnePlus 5? Well, it comes with the much talked about iPhone 7 Plus-like design. It, as per the company claim, is slimmer and lighter than its predecessor OnePlus 3T. It has a 5.5-inch full HD Optic AMOLED display on the front. The company claims that it has focused on DCI – PC3 color gamut for a better result. It is being offered in Midnight Black and Slate Gray colors.

The OnePlus 5 boasts of a Snapdragon 835 chipset which is paired with 6GB/8GB RAM. An Adreno 540GPU has been roped in to handle the graphic needs. It is being offered with 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.1 storage options.

OnePlus is upbeat about its camera performance. The OnePlus 5 features 16MP ( Sony IMX 398 sensor) + 20MP (Sony IMX 350 sensor) with f/1.7 and f/2.6 aperture, respectively. Like the iPhone 7 Plus, it uses a second telephoto lens for the optical zoom purpose and for bokeh images in the portrait mode. There is a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front, similar to its predecessor.

The phone comes running on OnePlus’ Oxygen OS which is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The company has promised an Android O upgrade via OTA update. It comes with a ceramic coated fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button. It is aided by a 3,300mAh battery which comes with Dash Charge support. Other features of the phone include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE support, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC.

OnePlus 5 Price in India and Availability

The OnePlus has priced its base latest flagship killer 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant at Rs. 32,999 while the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant will be available for Rs.37,999. It will be available in an early access sale on Amazon India from today (4:30 onward). OnePlus for its fans has set up pop-up stores in New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and Bengaluru, from where they will be able to buy this new phone over the next two days. The first sale on Amazon is due to take place on June 27.
