Update 8/8/2017: OnePlus 5 Soft Gold color variant is now official. As previously reported, it will be available for 32,999 INR (64GB variant) from August 9 onwards.

OnePlus has teased a new color for OnePlus 5 (Review) on its social media handles. The flagship killer is currently available in Midnight Black and Slate Gray colors and the upcoming hue is  ‘Mint Gold’ ‘Soft Gold’.

The new color was confirmed via TENNA listing in China, where the upcoming variant is being teased as well. Also, the teaser banner for the Soft Gold OnePlus 5 is already live on Amazon, and the source code hints at gold color too.

The Soft Gold OnePlus 5 will most likely have white fascia, contrasting the black one on the two existing models, just as it was with OnePlus 3 and 3T soft gold variant.

OnePlus 5 Soft Gold Launch Date, Availability, and Price

OP5 Soft gold is now official, just in time for Amazon’s Great Indian Sale that starts on August 9.

As part of the sale, Amazon is offering 15 percent cash back on SBI cards. Other regular offers (Rs. 250 on playing Prime videos, 500 INR Kindle credits, Vodafone data, etc) will be applicable too. In India, only 64 GB OnePlus 5 Soft Gold variant will be available for purchase priced at 32,999 INR.

To refresh your memory, 5 is the new OnePlus flagship that’s stunningly fast (Snapdragon 835 inside), is running Android Nougat based Oxygen OS, has dual rear cameras (1.6X optical zoom), a 3300mAh battery, a fast fingerprint sensor. At the same time, it always manages to make headlines for the wrong reasons.

In spite of all that’s wrong and right with the OnePlus 5, we have been using it for a while and are quite impressed by the overall experience. We do believe it’s worth the price and we’d love to see OnePlus experiment with more colors.
