Oppo F3

Design and Display

Let’s start with Oppo F3 design and display. If you have owned or used Oppo F1s, barring dual selfie cameras up front, it is very difficult to spot the difference between the two. The phone has metallic back with rounded edges. The Oppo F3 front is ruled by a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display which is crisp and offers decent color reproduction. It uses 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 as protective shield.

The Vivo V5s takes inspiration from its more-expensive sibling the Vivo V5 Plus which made its debut in January 2017. Both phones have faux metal chassis but the V5S comes with iPhone 7 Style antenna bands. Vivo’s new selfie-centric phone boasts a 5.5-inch HD IPS LCD display that offers punchy colors but details are little subdued in comparison.

The Gionee A1 doesn’t have anything radical changes in its design and sticks to tried and tested template. The phone comes with a metallic body with rounded edges and 2.5D curved glass on the top. The display is one of the strongest suits of Gionee A1. It offers Punchy colors, high contrast, and sharp full HD resolution which ensures a pleasant experience. In comparison to the F3 and V5s the Gionee A1 display has a clear edge whereas Oppo F3 has an overall better design.

Both comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. However, the Oppo F3 comes with a dedicated microSD card slot where a the Vivo V5s has a hybrid SIM slot.

Camera

All three smartphone in the comparison have a lot riding on their cameras as each one is a selfie-centric smartphone. Amongst them, the Oppo F3 is a lone warrior that’s armed with dual front cameras. The primary one between the two is a 16-megapixel regular selfie camera while the other 8-megapixel shooter comes a wide angle lens so that it can capture groupies conveniently. Oppo also manages to squeeze in a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and LED flash.

It’s close competitor Vivo V5s packs a 20-megapixel lone shooter which is assisted by a ‘Moonlight’ LED flash to ensure great captures even in low-light conditions. The V5s features a 13-megapixel rear camera with a LED flash and phase detection auto-focus. Overall, the camera hardware and results are exactly same as the Vivo V5 (review).

Oppo F3

The selfiestan anthem phone, Gionee A1, on the other hand, flaunts a 16-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash and aperture f/2.0. At the rear end, it sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, aperture f/2.2 and LED flash.

While all three of them are very close to each other to take a call on which one is better, the group selfie feature on the Oppo F3 clearly gives it an edge our it competitors in the same range.

Battery and connectivity

The Vivo V5s takes the last spot when it comes to battery capacity. It packs a 3,000mAh. The second position goes to the Oppo F3 as it is fueled by a 3,200mAh battery. The undisputed king in this battery battle as it aided by a whopping 4,000mAh battery that comes bundled with a turbocharger.

In terms of connectivity, there is hardly anything to differentiate between three of them.  All smartphones support dual-SIM card, 4G LTE with VoLTE HD voice calling, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB. However, USB OTG is only supported by the Vivo V5s and Gionee A1.

Final Verdict

All three phones have their strengths and weaknesses which make it extremely difficult to pick one as the best. Barring dual selfie camera things are even-stevens between the Vivo V5s and Oppo F3. The Gionee A1, on the other hand, has an upper hand as it boasts of better hardware and a beefier battery.
