Moving to different places or being on the move has no more been a trouble when it comes to your mobile network, thanks to MNP services. Through MNP a user can change his mobile network without having to change their contact number. The hassle about MNP is that you can avail MNP services only within your state or telecom circle. But this is about to change from May 3, 2015.

As a result of the follow-up regarding the amendments issued by the Department of Telecom (DoT) on the 3rd of November 2014, the restriction of being able to avail Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service in your state or telecom circle only has now been lifted. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has finally announced that any user can avail MNP services anywhere throughout the country. There is no more a need to rush to your telecom circle to change your mobile service provider. This will come handy to folks who have to change their place of residence at regular intervals. It will also let users keep their numbers while on long trips without incurring massive roaming charges.
