Panasonic today added another big battery phone to the mix. The new P75 is a rather modest entry-level offering priced at 5,990 INR, but promises a battery-anxiety-free existence. It makes sense to have an ultra-affordable big battery phone, as most consumers in this budget switch from feature phones and are used to a better mileage than what most modern smartphones offer.

The Panasonic P75 has a 5000 mAh battery. Other than that, it features a 5 inch HD display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with paltry 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage (with a customary 32GB SD card option).

The camera hardware is equally basic with an 8MP shooter on the rear and a 5MP front snapper in charge of selfies. For connectivity, the device has a dual SIM – 3G/2G configuration, direct Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

On the software front, Panaonic P75 is running Android Lollipop based Sail UI. A scratch guard worth 399 INR is bundled in the box as well. The design, again, looks very conventional. It will be available in Champaign gold and black color options.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Pankaj Rana, Business Head – Mobility Division, Panasonic India, said, “With the increased usage of smart phones nowadays, we offer our consumers a long lasting 5000mAH battery smart phone capable of turn-by-turn navigation as well, thereby assisting our consumers on the go.”

On paper, Panasonic P75 appears to be a very basic handset meant for first time Android users. One that comes with a bigger battery.
