PhiComm To Enter India In June 2015

Smartphones are now as necessary as the air we breathe in. They occupy a very special place in our personal as well as professional lives. And when we speak of smartphones, we are all well aware with numerous options we have when we go to buy a smartphone. China, actually, seems to be the king of the electronics and gadgets as we already have a large of manufacturers from China in the global electronics and smartphone arena. Recently we have witnessed a few newcomers in the smartphone industry from China, which include Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi. And we all are very familiar with these names as they have created a reputation of themselves within such a short period of their arrival in the global market.

As the news has it, another Chinese smartphone brand is seeking to target Indian economy. PhiComm is another China based smartphone manufacturer which is the latest of all new comers and is planning to enter India in June 2015. Meizu is to introduce its first device M1 Note in India on May 18 while another Chinese giant, ZTE has planned a launch event in Delhi on May 19, 2015 to enter the Indian smartphone market with its flagship series Nubia.

“The Indian market is very important and it will be the third country where we will establish a local organisation where we will hire about 20 local staff,” Jeffrey Fan, president of global sales at PhiComm told ET. He added that the company has a marketing budget of INR 1,026 crore. The company wants to manufacture its own handsets in India which will be priced within the range of INR 6,300-12,700. The company also hinted that the products will be online by the mid of June 2015.
