Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ With Infinity Display and Exynos 8890 Launched In India starting Rs. 57,900

The wait is over. After making a grand debut at Unboxed Event in New York, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have finally been unleashed in India at a press event in New Delhi. The new Samsung flagship in online space will be a Flipkart exclusive for which pre-booking has already started.
The Galaxy S8  is priced in the vicinity of  Rs 57,900, while the S8+ will cost Rs. 64900. All those who prebook the new S-series flagships get a free fast wireless charger. Sales start on May 5. Reliance Jio will also offer double data offer to S8 and S8+ users.galaxy-s8_design

The major different between the two phones is the screen size – the Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch display while the Galaxy s8+ has a 6.2-inch screen. Samsung has done away with the flat display variants and both of these new phones have the dual curved edges to the display. The Galaxy S8 duo screen shares same resolution of 2960×1440 and come with curved Super AMOLED Infinity display.

Unlike, the Galaxy S7 there is no physical home button on the phone. For these two new phones Samsung’s switched to a pressure sensitive display arrangement for the home button and customisable on-screen navigation buttons. Samsung continues to keep Qualcomm Snapdragon variant exclusive to very few nations.  In India, the Galaxy S8 duos are powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 chipset developed by using 10nm processor. Both of them comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with Samsung’s revamped TouchWiz UI.
What sets both phones apart (other than screen size) is the battery size. The Galaxy S8 gets a 3,000mAh battery whereas the Galaxy S8+ offers a 3,500mAh battery.
On the optics front, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ features a 12-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS). Up front, both phones include an 8-megapixel shooter with f/1.7 aperture and autofocus.

 The  Galaxy S8 gets its own Bixby – a smart AI assistant. It has a dedicated key on the left edge of the phone. The company claims that it can perform various task,  from making calls to recommending restaurants nearby to changing the device’s settings.
Samsung’s  had a tough second half of 2016 with Galaxy Note 7 as its exploding battery become an embarrassment for the company. The S8/S8+ is expected to pull it back on track.
