Sony Introduces Its New X-Series 4K HDR TVs; Focus On Improved Contrast And Picture Quality

Sony India has announced its new X range of 4K HDR television series that, as per the company, have been designed to deliver even wider brightness range and higher contrast. Sony has been consistently exploring the 4K video scene in televisions, having brought out as many as 17 models this year.

Coming to the specifications of the models in this new X-series, they are all powered by the company’s 4K HDR processor X1 Extreme that aims to enhance the viewership experience by integrating three technologies – Object-based HDR remaster, Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR and Dual database processing.

Other than that, they will operate on the very latest Android Nougat OS, layered with the company’s own UI on the top. They will also have dedicated buttons to ease access to apps like Netflix, Google PlayStore and YouTube.

The company has decided to redesign the series, imbibing a texture-like finish at the back, as well as the use of thin bezels to, to further improve the aesthetics.

Apart from that, Sony has provided for in the series what it calls as the X-tended Dynamic Range Pro technology, to enhance the brightness and details, with the company even calling it ten time better than what a conventional LED TV offers.

Two of the high-end models (X9500E & X9300E) will also sport the Slim Backlight Drive+ technology, that is an improved LED Backlight technology that provides better and more accurate local diming control.

The former is also the flagships series and will come in replete with features that include Triluminos display, 4K X Reality Pro, Android TV, Bluetooth connectivity with A2DP support, and an exclusive Content Bar User Interface.

The X9400/X9300E series comes with a stand which combines a low-profile slate and slender legs for support. The X8200E series has Sony’s new 4 x 4 sound system that features a tweeter and woofer for both the left and right channels each powered by its own amplifier.

For the X7500E Sony has incorporated features like Android TV, HDR compatibility (via the Internet, USB port and HDMI), and Content Bar UI. The last amongst these is the X7002E series, that has variety of built in apps from Sony & Opera TV store allows customers to stream contents, play games etc.

There is no word out yet regarding the price of Sony’s new 4K series, although it will be launching on the 20th of June.
