Electronics giant Sony launched the PlayStation (PS) 4 Pro gaming console alongside the PS VR headset bundle featuring a PS 4 camera in the country on Thursday. While the PS 4 Pro has been priced at Rs. 38,990, the VR headset bundle will cost a cool Rs. 41,990.

The PS 4 Pro is set to be out for sales around mid-February while the headset bundle would be out in March and is up for pre-orders at select sites as of now.

The former offers 8 jaguar cores at 2.1Ghz as opposed to the latter which offers the same at 1.6Ghz. Furthermore, it features an improved AMD GCN, that offers 36 CUs at 911 Mhz while the original has 18 Radeon GCN compute units at 800MHz.

Along with that, the PS 4 Pro has an 8GB GDDR5 RAM at a rate of 218GB/s that provides a 24% boost to the bandwidth that the PS 4 offers.

By the looks of it, the Japanese company wants both of the devices to co-exist. It appears there will not be any PS 4 Pro-exclusive games or in-game content. The games based on PS 4 would run on PS 4 Pro and the other way round, the difference being the PS 4 Pro’s comparatively better graphics.

As far as the game-ready, virtual reality VR headset bundle is concerned, it will be compatible with both and offer features, such as 360-degree head tracking, wide field of view, high refresh rates, and a binaural 3D audio technology.

Also, unlike the HTC Viva and Oculus Rift, it won’t require a high-end PC to function but only a PS camera and/or Move motion controllers and obviously, a PS 4 or PS 4 Pro.
