1o.or’s (Tenor) recently launched, 10.or D, is the biggest challenger to Xiaomi Redmi 5A. Both smartphones are awfully close, at least on paper, but the 10.or D pushes the boundary further with some subtle additions.

In comparison to Redmi 5A, 10.or D has a slightly bigger display – 5.2-inch HD, more battery juice – 3500mAh, runs stock Android software, and has a fingerprint sensor, which is still a rarity in this budget. The phone comes in two variants and has a starting price of Rs. 4,999.

Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite

Taking on the Redmi 5A is another Redmi device. The Redmi Y1 Lite was launched last month, which is Xiaomi’s budget selfie smartphone and has ‘almost’ similar specifications as the 5A.

Talking about the phone, Redmi Y1 Lite has a slightly larger display – 5.5-inch to be exact and is powered by Snapdragon 425 chipset with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space. For photography, it has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie shooter.

Nokia 2

The other alternative to Redmi 5A can be the HMD Global’s budget smartphone, Nokia 2. The phone has an awesome build quality, good display quality, will be upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo, and has an excellent battery life. However, the innards of the Nokia 2 are slightly on the weaker side.

Nokia 2 is powered by entry grade 1.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 212 processor backed by 1GB RAM and 8GB storage space. The phone comes running on stock-Android and houses a 4,100mAh battery.
