Top 7 Smartphones Set to Launch In June 2017

The first half of 2017 has been very eventful as we witness the arrival of flagship smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus (review), and LG G6. In the budget range, Chinese players continue to dominate the Indian market. Players like Micromax and Smartron made an attempt but still didn’t manage to make a big splash. Also, Apple recently started its Indian assembly line and the first smartphone to assembled here is iPhone SE which is offered under 20K INR. (हिंदी में पढ़ें)

As we step into June, a number of big ticket launches are expected to happen this month. Here’s the list of smartphones that are expected to launch in India soon.

One Plus 5

OnePlus’s upcoming flagship killer OnePlus 5 is just around the corner. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is expected to take the wraps off its 2017 flagship killer this month. Chipset maker Qualcomm recently confirmed that the OnePlus 5 will be powered by its most powerful Snapdragon 835 SoC. The OnePlus 5 numerous leaks suggested that it will come with a dual rear camera.

Several rumors point out that OnePlus 3T successor could also boast dual selfie cameras on the front. Recent AnTuTu listing suggests that the phone will come running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based Oxygen OS. It will feature a 5.5-inch full HD display, Adreno 540 GPU, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of base internal storage.

Xiaomi Mi 6

Xiaomi recently introduced its flagship smartphone Mi 6 in China. The smartphone is expected to land on India soil in the month of June and likely to go on sale on June 23. The Xiaomi Mi 6 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 flagship SoC coupled with 6GB RAM. The smartphone houses a 5.15-inch Full HD display with what company claims as a 3D glass design. Back in China, Xiaomi offers it with 64GB and 128GB variants.

Optics-wise, the Mi 6 is in line with the latest trend as it flaunts a 12MP dual camera setup (one wide-angle and one telephoto) with OIS and 4K video recording capability. There is also an 8MP selfie camera. This is first ever Xiaomi phone that lacks a 3.5mm audio jack.

Nokia 6

After Nokia 3310 (2017) India launch, HMD Global is all set to introduce its range of Nokia smartphone in India. The band is expected to Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 smartphones in India by June-end. All three of them are a budget smartphone and are expected to be priced below 20K. The Nokia 6 boasts of a full-HD 5.5-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The phone has 16MP primary camera and 8MP selfie camera.

The Nokia 5 on the other hand, is more compact as it features a 5.2-inch display. It enthralls on Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The smartphone comes with a 13MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing camera, and 3000mAh battery life. The Nokia 3, in all probability, is coming this June. It features a 5-inch HD IPS display, quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 8MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing camera and 2650mAh battery life.

HTC U11

HTC’s 2017 flagship, the U11, comes with ‘squeezable’ bezels. HTC has packed 8 sensors on the side bezels to ensure it to register each time you squeeze your phone. The new Edge Sense UI also allow users to customize squeeze and set application which will be launched when you squeeze your phone.

Specs wise, the HTC U11 sports a 5.5-inch QHD Super LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It houses an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset under the hood. It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM or 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM options. It also boasts a 12MP autofocus rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and Dual Pixel tech and an 8-ultrapixel selfie camera.

Moto Z2 Play

Motorola on its social media handles posting teaser posts related to an upcoming smartphone. If the street buzz is anything to go buy, Lenovo is all set to launch Moto Z2 and Z2 Play in the first week of June. Specification of the Moto Z2 Play is already available in the public domain. The Modular back smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display. It enthralls a Snapdragon 626 chipset, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. The 12MP primary camera is equipped with dual pixel autofocus and laser autofocus. The phone is said to feature dual tone LED flash on both front and back of the device.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium

Sony Xperia XZs

Sony Xperia XZ Premium, which was showcased at the MWC 2017, is expected to launch in India next month. The 2017 flagship comes with a 5.5-inch 4K resolution display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. It features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. For shutterbug, it comes with a 19MP rear camera and a 13MP selfie shooter. Sony has bundled a 3,230mAh battery to take care of power requirements.

Huawei P10

Huawei’s P10 is another smartphone which we expect to make its debut in India next month. The successor of last year’s P9 is compact in size it comes fitted with a 5.1-inch full-HD display. Huawei uses its own octa-core Kirin 960 chipset on the phone which is teamed up with 4GB RAM. Optics are the main highlight of the phone as it boasts 20MP + 12MP rear Leica cameras with f/1.8 aperture at the rear side and an 8MP selfie camera with f/1.9 aperture. The smartphone is fueled by a 3,200mah battery.
