Recently, when I started using OnePlus 5, I saw a series of cell broadcast messages flooding my message inbox. In case you are facing a similar issue, here is how you can turn off cell broadcast messages on your any Andriod handset.
What are Cell Broadcast messages?
Cell Broadcast is a technology that’s part of GSM standard (Protocol for 2G cellular networks) and has been designed to deliver messages to multiple users in an area. The technology is also used to push location-based subscriber services or to communicate area code of Antenna cell using Channel 050. Many handsets do not have the ability to receive cell broadcasts.
So, that’s clearly not something you will need. Here is how you can stop receiving CellBroadband messages when you change your location.
The steps to turn off cell broadcast might differ slightly based on the phone brand you are using.
