Alibaba-owned, UC Web has rolled out a new update for its mobile-based app UC Browser in India. The UC Browser v12 bring faster video content consumption on mobile with 50% lesser data and zero time lag in buffering. The app is now available for download via Google Play Store.

Alibaba also announced that they have crossed 130 Million Monthly Active Users (MAU) in the subcontinent. With this, the app enjoys a market share of over 43% and is the sixth-most downloaded app.

UC Browser Version 12 Features

Coming back to the app, the new version of UC Browser has added cool new features for the refreshingly new experience. It allows users to watch and download the videos simultaneously, and play them without any buffering time. The app can further help save your mobile data by up to 50 percent.

Additionally, the app also includes Smart Weather and Smart Zodiac Signs feature, to make browsing more personalized.

UC Browser says that its ‘Be Smart’ feature uses big data technology to provide users with personalized recommendations and content. This means users will get suggested content based on their preferences and usage.

The new version also guarantees better viewing experience for lower-end phones that have 1GB or 2GB of RAM. It optimizes video loading and downloading of top sites and pre-loading of video information flow.

Commenting on the launch event, Shallia Li, Head of UC Browser, said “With evolving user demands, we are also upgrading UC Browser. The app has the data compression technology that provides a ‘No buffering’ video watching experience.”
