Xiaomi Redmi 4, Redmi 4A Launched: Specs, Price and More

As we reported, Xiaomi has launched its two new mid-range smartphones Redmi 4Prime, Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A in China. The successor of Redmi 3 and Redmi 3S offers some interesting specification at a competitive price. Both phones flaunt an all-metal exterior while slightly expensive Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime also gets a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor similar to its predecessor.

The Redmi 4 Prime take its design inspiration from Redmi Note 4. The phone has slim bezels around its 5-inch full HD IPS display covered with 2.5D curved glass. It has 8.9mm thick waistline and weighs 160 grams in total.The other internal includes a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory with microSD card support.Similarly, the Redmi 4 features a Snapdragon 430 CPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. The fingerprint sensor can be spotted at the back along with the conventional antenna bands on both handsets.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 will come out of the box running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI 8. It will come with a dual SIM hybrid SIM slot which accepts 4G VoLTE SIM card. On the lines of its predecessor, it too comes with a non-removable 4000 mAh battery which supports fast charging.

On the other hand, the Redmi 4A comes with a similar 5-inch display but this time its has marginally lower resolution. It enthralls upon an octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor (same as Redmi 3s) which teamed up with 2GB RAM and 16 ROM. A 3120mAh battery provides the necessary juice to fuel all hardware.

Both phones share the same optics which includes a 13MP rear camera with phase-detection autofocus and LED flash. Up front, there is a 5MP selfie camera on both phones.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pricing and Availability

The Redmi 4 with Snapdragon 430, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage starts at just 699 Yuan (approx Rs. 6900) whereas the Redmi 4 Prime Snapdragon 625, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant will be available for 899 yuan (approx Rs. 8900). On the other hand, the Redmi 4A has been priced at CNY 499 (roughly Rs. 4,900). All three of them will go on sale from November 11 onwards in China and will be available` in Silver, Grey and Gold color options.
