Xiaomi Redmi 5A Announced: Features, Specification and Price

Post numerous leaks and unofficial teasers, Xiaomi today officially unveiled Xiaomi Redmi 5A back home in China. unlike its predecessor, the Redmi 4A, it sports a metal unibody design and still doesn’t feature a fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A: Features

The Redmi 5A has gone through few cosmetic changes if you compare it with its predecessor. The edges on all sides are slightly slanted for better grip and the side frame sublimely bulges outwards.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A comes with a 5-inch display with 1280×720 pixels resolution. The phone is packed with a quad-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 chipset which is aided by Adreno 308 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of expandable storage (same as the Redmi 4A).

In optics, the Redmi 5A gets a 13-megapixel primary camera with F2.0 aperture, LED flash, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), whereas up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with LED flash. This dual SIM compact phone runs on Android Nougat based MIUI 9. The phone is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery which as per Xiaomi can offer up to 8 days of standby time.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A comes is offered Champagne Gold, Cherry Powder, and Platinum Silver hues. In China, The Xiaomi Redmi 5A priced at CNY 599 which is roughtly Rs. 5,883 in Indian rupees. The phone is now avialable for pre-order in China. It will retails on Xiaomi Mall, Mi Homes, and JD.com, Lynx, and Suning Tesco starting October 21. We hope Xiaomi will launch Redmi 5A in India soon.
