Xiaomi’s Mi Max 2 Latest Update Emerges; Talks About 6.4-Inch Display, Snapdragon 626

Having trumped the likes of Samsung and Apple in terms of liking amongst the Indian clientele, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi seems intent on being in the thick of the things. Evan as the Mi 6 smartphone is currently being awaited, details regarding the second version of its Mi Max smartphone has come to the fore.

The Mi Max 2, as the phone is being dubbed as, is set to feature the same 6.4-inch display with 1080 x 1920p resolution that the earlier one also had. It is worth mentioning here that the older one is currently off the shelves at the Xiaomi mall.

According to the latest report, the chipset to be used in the phone is the Snapdragon 626 one, quashing earlier reports that the Snapdragon 660 SoC would be put into use for it.

In an optical upgrade from its last year counterpart, the Mi Max 2 will supposedly sport a 12MP Sony IMX378 sensor on the back, similar to the one present in the Mi 5S, but is expected to be better on the aperture front.

On the front, the phone will have a 5MP camera for selfies.

Other than that, the second version of the Mi Max will boot the most recent Android 7.1.1 OS. Xiaomi seems to have increased the already gigantic battery that the original one had and this one will have a 5,000mAh one acting as the supply agent.

It appears that the pricing of the phone would range between 1499 Yuan (approx Rs. 13,980) to 1699 Yuan (approx. Rs. 15,850), but it, like all the information provided above, remains an unconfirmed speculation (as of yet).
