Asus Zenwatch 3, a circular smartwatch running Android Wear that debuted at IFA 2016, is now available for purchase in India exclusively on Flipkart with prices starting at 17,599 INR.

The new Zenwatch 3 has a 1.39″ (400×400 pixels) AMOLED dial/display which looks more mature than its two rounded square shaped predecessors. Asus has focused on two key areas here. First, the watch aims to be an accurate fitness tracker – which is about the best thing you could use smartwatches for at the moment. And secondly, the Zenwatch 3 incorporates a bunch of features to increase battery backup – which is the number one concern among Smartwatch owners.

To start with, it is powered by Snapdragon 2100 chip that has been specially designed for wearables and promises 25 percent boost in battery efficiency. Also, the 340mAh battery inside supports ‘Hypercharge’ technology, that can charge it from 0 to 60 percent in just 15 minutes using the inbox magnetic charger.

Equipped with a 6-axis Gyro and accelerometer sensor, the Zenwatch 3 can track activities like walking, running, push-ups, and sit-ups. Other notable features include 512MB RAM, 4GB storage, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, Wi-Fi, and water and dust resistant body.

And the Gunmetal color version with dark brown leather strap will cost 18,999 INR in India. Pre-orders for both variants are now open. A Gunmetal color variant with brownish grey rubber strap will also be available later in January 2017.

Commenting on the launch, Peter Chang, Region Head – South Asia & Country Manager for ASUS India said, “The launch of ZenWatch 3 is the perfect culmination of a successful year for ASUS in India. Consumers are increasingly adopting wearables to help simplify their lives and boost productivity. The powerful ZenWatch 3 combines luxury and functionality to provide users with a device that allows them to manage their lives comfortably. We are sure that the combination of specs and design in this smartwatch will be appreciated by our users.”
